Osun State is popularly known as the State of Osun (Ipinle Osun). It was named after the Osun river. It was formed in the Southeast of Oyo State on the 27th of August, 1991.

Osun State is bounded to the North by Kwara State, to the South by Ogun State, to the East by Ekiti and Ondo State, to the West by Oyo State. Osun State’s capital city is Osogbo.

1. Toyin Adegbola

Oluwatoyin Oluwaremilekun Adegbola is a prolific Nollywood actress, director and producer better recognised as Toyin Ashewo to lo Mecca. She was born on the 28th of December, 1961.

She is a native of Osun State, the southwestern part of Nigeria. She entered the movie industry in 1984 and she’s still active to date. She became famous when she was featured in the movie ‘Mayowa’.

She lost her husband Anthony Kolawole Adegbola in 2000. She bore two children; Adetunji Adegbola and Adesola Adegbola.

2. Funmi Awelewa

Funmi Awelewa is a prolific Yoruba Nollywood actress, producer, fashion designer and model. She is better known as ‘Morili Omo Ibadan’.

She is an indigenous of Osun State but she was born and raised in Oyo State. She was born on the 12th of October. She entered the movie industry in 2014 after she met award-winning actress, Sola Kosoko. She is married to the love of her life, Oluwatosin Adexteecy (sexy steel) a fashion designer.

3. Lola Magaret

Lola Magaret Oladipupo is a prolific Nollywood actress, movie director and movie producer born on the 21st of March, 1984. She is a native of Ilesha, Osun State.

She became famous when she was featured in the movie ‘Bisola Alanu’. She lived with her aunt after she lost her parent in 1999. She was introduced into the movie industry by Bolaji Amusan ( Mr Latin).

4. Biola Ige

Biola Ige is a Nollywood actress, aspiring educator, business strategist and historian born on the 21st of October, 1984.

She is a proud indigene of Osun State. She is born into a family of five children and she’s the lastborn. She started her career at a tender age.

5. Gloria Bamiloye

Gloria Olusola Bamiloye is a Nollywood actor, evangelist, movie director and producer born on the 04th of February, 1964 in Ilesha, Osun State.

She is the co-founder of Mount Zion Ministry. She entered the movie industry in 1985. She is famous for her Gospel Movie Production.

She is married to the love of her life, Mike Bamiloye. Their union is blessed with three children.
