He hails from Ilora, a town in Oyo State Southwestern Nigeria. He is the son of the veteran comic actor Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Papi Luwe.

Initially, Sunkanmi’s father, Papi Luwe didn’t want him to venture into acting. After a while, Sunkanmi ventured into acting at the age of Nine Years old because he accompanies his dad to the movie set.
After a few years, Sunkanmi had to take a break from acting when he enrolled in the military school in Zaria. But when he returned, he decide to focus on acting fully.
His father never wanted him to become an actor but he insisted on following his passion. Sunkanmi has starred in many movies including Olaide Irawo (2007) and Gongo Aso(2008) others include Ori, Eni Olorun, Ito fun fun and Alajota to mention a few.
Sunkanmi Marriage
Sunkanmi is married to Abimbola Bakare. The two got married in 2011 in Port Harcourt and they have been living happily since then. Bimbo was based in Dubai before she got married to Sunkanmi.
The two welcomed their first child, Aderinsola on the 16th of August, 2020. The couple who tied the knot in the year 2011, are now parents to a beautiful girl named Aderinsola.
