Jonathan and Janaya Boston Mcray, 18-year-old twins, graduated as the best-graduating students of William W. Bodine High School and earned a full-ride scholarship to study at the university.

They are twins born just one minute apart. They graduated with distinctions from William W. Bodine High School, North Philly in the United States.

Jonathan graduated as the valedictorian and Janaya graduated as the salutatorian. The Mcray twins said they had always relied on each other and their family. “We motivate each other at all times as we compete for grades and everything,” Janaya said.

Jonathan stated that their parents have always been their motivation and a major part of their success. “I watched my parents sacrifice a lot for me and my sister throughout the years,” he said.

While in high school, the twins were active students both in their studies and extracurricular activities. Janaya played basketball while Jonathan ran track.

William W. Bodine High School history teacher Kate Raber, praised the Mcray twins , describing them as intelligent and more than just academically adept. “They are students who know their minds. They’re students who know how to elevate their voices and their own classmates,” Raber said.

The twins mentioned that they are the first in their entire family to ever enroll in college. The Mcray siblings were awarded a full-ride scholarship to study at the university of their choice. Janaya said she will be studying at Temple University to pursue a career as a veterinarian.

Brilliant man goes back to school to study Medicine after earning a degree in Microbiology, graduates as best student with 15 awards

A brilliant man named Obuekwe Chukwuemeka Azubuike has returned to school to bag a Medicine degree after he had earlier earned a Biochemistry degree from Covenant University, Nigeria.

He also won 15 awards as the best-graduating student of his faculty.

Azubuike obtained a first degree in Biochemistry at Covenant University, Ogun Nigeria before moving on to study medicine at the Obafemi Awolowo University. He bagged her medicine degree with distinctions.

He also was awarded the best graduating student of the university’s Faculty of Clinical Sciences. Azubuike shared his achievement of graduating as a Medical Doctor on Twitter stating that he was privileged.

Azuibuike mentioned that he received the Nigerian Medical Association Prize and a cash award from the Nigerian Medical Association as the Best Graduating Student in Medicine at his induction ceremony.

He said he was honoured to receive numerous accolades at the university convocation ceremony. Azuibike won a total of 15 awards and was awarded the University Prize for Overall Best Student with the highest number of prizes.

Despite battling chronic disease, A 50-year-old woman named Ammies Stewart has beaten the odds to successfully graduate from Jackson University, United States with a 97% grade point.

Ammies is a mother of three who works as an elementary teacher in Jackson Public Schools and with a Lupus diagnosis. She was able to balance being a teacher, motherhood, and her health challenges together with being a student.

She graduated from Jackson State University’s (JSU) Mississippi Teacher Residency (MTR) Program with a 3.90 grade point average. Ammie who was diagnosed with Lupus in May 2022 said she is excited about her graduation adding that everyone will see the power of joy in her walk.

“I’ve already picked out my outfit for graduation. My thing is to step, but I’m stepping with knowing that I did this. I’m stepping knowing that God was there. “I trusted Him and trusted His plan. I kept going. I’m stepping for my children. I’m stepping for my students. I’m stepping for the mothers and fathers who wanted to step but couldn’t step,” she said.

Ammie told JSU news that she began her college journey in 1997 but she paused her academics to care for her children. She graduated from Tougaloo College, Mississippi with two associate’s degrees – one in early childhood and the other in childhood development,

She proceeded to obtain a  bachelor’s degree in childhood development at the same college. She mentioned that her journey was rigid as she was often battling flare-ups with lupus. Flare-ups can lead to extreme tiredness, fatigue, and chronic pain.

Lupus causes inflammation and occurs when the immune system attacks its tissues, as opposed to its normal function of protecting the body from infections and disease. Ammies said she knows that her journey with lupus was to inspire someone.

A brilliant 19-year-old pregnant Lady named Nayzia Thomas who wrote her final papers while in the labour expecting to give birth to her son has graduated from the Johnson County Community College, Kansas City, Missouri, United States with a first class.

Nayzia Thomas bagged a first-class Bachelor’s degree in Psychology after scoring a GPA of 3.50. She narrated that she wanted to be done with the semester before the birth of her son, Anthony Johnson, who arrived about 12 hours after she submitted her final.

“It wasn’t due until the end of the week. But my goal was to try to have everything done before. [I thought] before all this gets crazy, let me hurry up and finish this final,” she told Yahoo.

After her experience, she took to her social media page to share with friends the aftermath of her labour room exam session. She shared a before and after photo which she said her mother took while she was in the hospital.

“School is so important to me. I didn’t want [pregnancy] to be in the way. That’s what people expect. You’re a teen mom, you’re a young mother. That’s why my mom took that picture,” she said.

She narrated that she faced serious challenges following her child’s birth but her son’s father was right there to take over whenever she went unconscious. “We had a healthy baby boy. However, I experienced major blood loss & my body went into shock post-delivery. It was very scary, but his father was right there to take over when I went unconscious. We are blessed,” she wrote on Twitter.

A brilliant Nigerian man named Similoluwa Okuonwo has emerged as the overall best graduating student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria after he bagged his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a 4.93 grade point.

He was also awarded a cash prize worth 350,000 naira for his outstanding performance at the university.

Similoluwa Okunowo obtained his bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with first-class honours of 4.93 over a possible 5.00 cumulative grade point at Obafemi Awolowo University.

He shared his achievement on Twitter stating that he graduated with the highest grade point in the entire university. In recognition of his outstanding performance, Similoluwa was awarded a sum of 350,000 naira with different notable awards as the overall best-graduating student.

Yesterday, I was conferred with a http://B.Sc in Electronic and Electrical Engineering (First Class Honours) during the 47th OAU convocation. I also emerged as the overall best-graduating student with the highest CGPA in OAU (4.93/5.0),” he wrote.

Similoluwa stated that his achievements made him reflect on his academic journey noting that he spent seven years in a bid to earn the degree. He said he realized that every mistake, failure, setback, and rejection led him to achieve success
