The is the list of Universities of Education in Nigeria, the Southwestern part of Africa, the years they are founded and the states they are located.
Education in Nigeria today is experiencing significant growth as many Nigerian youths are striving hard to get themselves educated in management, social science. humanity and educational courses.
Universities of Education are very few in Nigeria compared to other specialised universities in Nigeria such as the University of Technology, Agriculture, Science and Technology.
To further develop teaching education in Nigeria, some states government have upgraded their colleges of Education to the University of Education.
Though there are conventional universities in Nigeria that have faculty of Education, they thought there should be specialised universities for education for the advancement of College of Education and the graduates are awarded a bachelors degree.
Tai Solarin University of Education
The growth of Universities of Education started when the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) was established in 2005 by the Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
The Tai Solarin University of Education is a State-owned University of Education in Nigeria located in Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. It was established in 2005.

Ignatius Ajuru University of Education
The second on our list is the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, (IAUE) was previously known as Rivers State College of Education from June 1971- October 2009.
The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education is situated at the Ignatius campus, Port Harcourt and was established on the 15th of October 2009 by then governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

Lagos State University of Education
The newly established Lagos State University of Education is on our third list. The Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) was upgraded to the University of Education in 2021.
