The microblogging and social networking service, Twitter has revealed they chose Ghana as their African Headquarters instead of Nigerian and other African countries.
As Nigerians wonder why Twitter would snub Nigeria, the largest economy and the biggest twitter market n Africa for Ghana, Twitter disclosed that it chose Ghana as the country is a champion of democracy.
It said its decision was made as a result of Ghana’s “support for free speech and online freedoms.”
It also added that Ghana’s recent appointment as the Secretariat host of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) also influenced its decision.
