Osun Banks Robbers

Robbers that attacked several banks in Osun Sate reportedly chased customers out of the banking halls before they began their operations.

According to eyewitnesses, the armed robbers who attacked two commercial banks in Iree, Osun State, walked all the customers out of the premises before attacking the banks.

According to The Punch, the robbers arrived at the bank some minutes after 4 pm and robbed United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Access Bank. The two banks are side by side on the Iree/Ikirun Road.

Three of those who witnessed the incident told City Round that the robbers were over 20. They disclosed that the robbers asked them to leave because they didn’t want to injure anybody.

One of the witnesses said;

“They told all of us not to struggle with them and they walked us out of the premises before they commenced operation. They launched attacks on the two banks at the same time. Some of their men also cordoned off the Ikirun/Iree road to prevent attack while the operation lasted. They arrived at the banks some minutes after 4 pm and operated unhindered for over 30 minutes. They later fled in four vehicles through Iree/Ada road,”
