Professional wrestler Amber Roze McCormick, aka DangerKid, comes out as trans woman

It can often take longer than we’d like to truly understand ourselves. For Amber Roze McCormick, also known as DangerKid in the pro wrestling world, it took 30 years to fully realize her identity.

Her journey is a reminder that such milestones are worth celebrating fully. This past Saturday, McCormick shared her truth as a trans woman in an emotional Instagram post. She opened up about the past year and the experiences that led her to this significant moment in her life.

“I can confidently say I’m living my best life and am growing into the best version of myself,” McCormick said. “I am able to sit here and be proud of the growth I’ve managed to achieve and continue to.”

Amber Roze McCormick, a multi-time tag team champion, set a goal to transition genders during a significant period of personal and professional change. Having previously come out as nonbinary genderfluid in 2021, she started hormone replacement therapy (HRT) last September and has made considerable progress, despite not being where she wants to be yet.

McCormick emotionally recalled writing ‘transition’ as a goal last year and reflected on her feelings from that time. Three months ago, pro wrestling fans last saw her in the ring. Her final match as DangerKid, alongside her long-time partner Aiden Aggro, marked the end of their 10-year partnership in a memorable 49-minute match at a Limitless Wrestling event.

That night concluded a successful run for their team, MSP, with title reigns across various wrestling promotions. Recently, the duo featured in events that highlighted LGBTQ pro wrestlers.

McCormick stepped away from wrestling partly due to the mental and physical demands of the sport, compounded by her transition. She isn’t sure if her wrestling days are over, but the break has been beneficial.

Beyond whether she returns to wrestling, McCormick’s journey of self-acceptance and courage has been a greater achievement than any championship, illustrating the power of living authentically. Outsports celebrates her courage and the inspiration it brings to others.

Premier League Clubs Agree on New Spending Cap Rule Based on the TV Earnings of the Lowest-Earning Club

In a bold move to maintain financial stability and ensure competitive balance, Premier League clubs have reached a preliminary agreement on a new spending rule.

This rule introduces a spending cap that directly ties the expenditure limits of clubs to the television earnings of the club that earns the least from TV revenues, a method commonly referred to as “anchoring.”

This decision, however, did not come with unanimous support. Powerhouses such as Manchester City, Manchester United, and Aston Villa decided to vote against this proposed cap.

Their disagreement suggests a concern about the limitations this rule would place on their spending abilities, which are traditionally much higher due to their stronger financial standings. On the other hand, Chelsea chose to abstain from voting, indicating a neutral stance on the matter, neither opposing nor endorsing the cap.

The main goal of this anchoring strategy is to create a fairer playing field where all clubs have an equal chance of success, without the differences caused by varying financial strengths.

By anchoring club spending to the earnings of the lowest earner from TV revenues, the league aims to prevent wealthier clubs from using their financial muscle to outspend and, by extension, outperform the smaller clubs. This approach is expected to keep the competition lively and unpredictable, maintaining fan interest across all matches and seasons.

Critics from the clubs voting against or abstaining might argue that such a cap could stifle growth and investment in the league. These clubs may feel that limiting their spending based on the TV earnings of the lowest-earning club might not only restrict their ability to attract top talent but also impact their strategies for long-term growth and competitiveness.

In essence, while the anchoring method seeks to democratize financial capabilities among Premier League clubs, it also sparks a debate about the best way to promote competitive balance without hindering ambitious clubs from striving for excellence and growth.

As this rule moves from a preliminary agreement to a potentially binding regulation, it will be interesting to see how it reshapes the strategies of these footballing giants and the overall dynamics of the league.

However, the Director of Public Prosecution, Dr. Babajide Martins, asked the court to reject the appeal, stating it had no merit and was based on a misunderstanding. He wanted the court to uphold the lower court’s decision.
