EFCC Arrest Zlatan Ibile
On Friday, May 10, in Lagos, officials arrested the rising singer Zlatan Ibile along with another artist, Afeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, Rahman Jago, and two others. The crime unit seized their laptops and phones for a forensic examination to determine their involvement in cybercrime.
According to the EFCC, Zlatan’s arrest relates to Marley’s social media posts praising internet fraudsters, known in Nigeria as ‘Yahoo Boys.’ Shortly after, they released the controversial single “Am I A Yahoo Boy,” promoting internet fraud.
Authorities released Zlatan Ibile and others on bail, but they must report daily to the EFCC’s Lagos office until the case concludes, while Naira Marley remains in custody.
