Women are far more intelligent Than men – Rotimi Amaechi

The Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi has opined that women are far more intelligent than men adding they have what it takes to rule the world.

Rotimi Amaechi Statement;

“I do not support male domination, neither do I support female domination. I believe that all of you seated here are qualified to rule this nation; I don’t believe that a particular seat should be set aside for a woman; the reason is that women are by far more intelligent than men.

“The Deputy Secretary- General of the United Nations, Amina Muhammed, was selected not because she was a woman but because she performed excellently well in her previous position.

“When ‘I am invited to a function and women are gathered dancing, I just wonder why women should be dancing at a function; women should be taking more seriously than dancing at a function. When you get to the table, assert your authority as somebody who is brilliant, who is intelligent to get what others are getting.

“Don’t tell me you are on the table and should be given a position because you are a woman, don’t ask that any seat should be set aside for you, ask for your right, it is your right. Women in politics stay for meetings till 2am. So if your husband allows you to join politics, he should be ready to support you.

“Any woman I have ever given appointment merited it, but you are also a problem unto yourselves. If appointment is given to a woman, a fellow woman will start saying the man is dating the woman and that she did not get the appointment because she merited it, which is one of the reasons I stopped.”

She said her recent encounter with those who continue to paint all Nigerians as bad characters made her to put this out, adding that it is an act of racism.

“Not all Nigerians are scammers
Not all Nigerians are scammers

This plain generalization and racism should stop. I have many Nigerian friends and business partners who are genuinely great at their craft, dealings and breaking barriers to make the world better.

I am just putting this out there because of recent encounters with people who continue to make such nonfactual comments that paints some group of people as bad characters. There are bad and good people everywhere.

Stay safe and be smart

Are all Nigerians scammers

However, in reaction to her post, many reactions have sprung from both Nigerians and other nationals. Many agreed with her while few others believe that calling all Nigerians as scammers it isn’t a bad thing.

See reactions of those that agrees

Micheal van de Weg agrees with Jenny; “Living in South Africa we were exposed to Nigerian crime in our cities and it didn’t paint a pretty picture of Nigerians. When I first went to Nigeria on business I was in for a very pleasant surprise.

I found all Nigerians I met to be wonderfully polite, proud and wonderful to engage. “You are welcome!” with wide open arms is such a warm greeting I became accustomed to in Nigeria.

I found out that they were ashamed by the behaviour of Nigerians propagating crime in other countries. I still generalise but now I speak of how warm and welcoming Nigerians are.”

Andrew Stuart also agree with Jenny; “I worked in Nigeria for 3 years. You are absolutely right. I’ve been asked, but they only in it for themselves, my reply is always, go walk in their shoes and see how you will approach life without, unemployment funds, welfare, and the things some take for granted.

They don’t just give up, they make a plan. Loved my time there, they aren’t scared of work. There are scammers from every nation. I have received 5 calls today from Eastern people.”

Colin Kelman also agree; “Is Nigeria any worse than the UK or US nowadays …I think not!!! Nigeria is just maybe more transparent than other countries who have been trying desperately for years to cover up their corruption problems but down the line they always get found out.

If corruption in government cant be eradicated all together then is it not better to know sooner rather than later that your government is screwing you over? At least if you know sooner tax payers money wont be wasted on years of trying to hide issues. JUST SAYIN?”

Joseph Salvati disagrees

He believes Nigerians are scammers; “Jenny get real, I lived and worked in Lagos for 5.5 years, believe me their average for dishonesty is higher than anywhere else,a lot higher. Sad but true!”

Reaction from a Nigerian

Chinmere Iheonu writes; “About two months ago, I had this PhD candidate from Italy I was teaching applied econometrics via zoom. We met through researchgate. There was a particular class I decided to record the teaching for about 5minutes to see my teaching performance.

The moment the lady knew I was recording my teaching she felt uncomfortable (I should have taken her permission anyway, but it was just for a few harmless minutes).

That class was the last. Funny thing was that the teaching was for free. Then again she hardly showed her face for the camera throughout the teaching. Knowing I was a Nigerian she was uncomfortable from the very beginning.”

“I don commot my hand for anything long distance relationship. Let me cry first.  I will gist you guys.

We met sometime late last year at a wedding event in Delta, exchanged contact but started talking early last month.

She’s 24y/o, very beautiful ( kind of woman I like tho) base in Delta, I base in Lagos. She told me she lives with her eldest sister who is married with 2 kids. Sometimes her Sister’s husband usually disturb her for s*x when her sister is not around but she insisted that she can’t do such thing to her sister, that’s why she really need to get her own accommodation in order to escape such temptation.

I became so emotional why a married man will disturbed an innocent girl for s*x (maybe it’s true that some men are trash) then I asked her how much is an accommodation over there where she can manage since she’s still searching for a job with an intention to possibly contribute for her to secure the accommodation. She replied; “a self contained is about 200-300k per year over here”.

We usually video chat ourselves mostly from 8am-7pm, we don’t talk at night because she said her sister is against night calls because of noise bla bla bla…..that I should understand it, ( being a 21st century fool, madly in love i stupidly believe her) which she further convince me that once she got her own house we can talk at anytime i want.

Although sometimes I insisted we talk a bit at night but she won’t allow it, if i get angry at some point, she’ll go and hid in a toilet for a 10-15secs Video call to calm me down. Things were going very well, I was very happy that God has finally answered my “God When ?” Questions.

Last week she told me that they called her for a job interview at one of the places she submitted her CV in Lagos (I was very happy that finally I will get to meet this girl again and this time will be in Lagos) then she added with a very low tone; ..”I really don’t know how to do it” Don’t know how to do what? “I asked”; she continues… that at the moment, she doesn’t have any money to pay for her tfare (To & Fro) to Lagos and she will love to do her hair, nails and buy new clothes but she doesn’t have money.

I asked her how much will that be, she said; 40k and base on that she want to travel by road. I sent her 50k which she was really happy, I was also happy because I will get to meet her again, maybe possibly spend some days with me before going back to Delta.

Thursday this week was her birthday, which I uploaded her picture on my WhatsApp status to wish her happy birthday with some romantic words. Although her number all through the day wasn’t going through even on WhatsApp calls. I was wondering what could have happen to her and I became very worried.

Later in the evening a friend of mine whom we went to Delta together for the same wedding last year where I met her, send me a WhatsApp message when he saw the girls picture on my status, he asked; bro do you know this girl? I replied” yes bro I know her very well, went on to tell him that we met on that very day we traveled to Delta together.

I asked him too; do you know her? “He replied; yes that a friend to his friend is dating the girl and that they are into a very serious relationship that possibly will lead to marriage,  That they have dated for 4yrs, and that they live together for more than 2yrs now. In fact he send the girl and her boyfriend pictures to me for more proves. That he once liked the girl. At that point I couldn’t believe my eyes and what I heard , the guy further added that I should forward those pictures to her and ask her who’s the guy. I did as instructed; she didn’t reply nor pick my calls till night when I saw a message from her saying; … “I’m sorry”.

Sorry for what? “I asked her; she replied; for everything but I can explain. (*Sorry I would have posted our WhatsApp chat but I deleted her contact out of anger*)

Explain what? I asked again” do you live with a man or not? Are you into a very serious relationship with someone?

She replied; it’s a long story that she likes me and that she doesn’t like the guy anymore bla bla bla… later that night she blocked me on all platforms.  her name is Esther Oghenebi.”
