Kanayo O. Kanayo was born on March 1, 1962, and is from Nru Umueze Oboama Ezinihite in Imo State’s Mbaise Local Government Area.
He is a Nigerian lawyer and actor. He was raised in Aba, Abia State, and attended St Joseph Primary School before continuing his studies at Technical School Aba.
Kanayo graduated from the University of Lagos with a diploma in mass communication, a diploma in law, and a Master’s degree in philosophy. In addition, he earned a master’s degree in political science.
He graduated with honours from the University of Abuja in 2018 and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2020.

Kanayo O. Kanayo Career
Kanayo began his acting career in 1982, appearing in Nigerian Television Authority films.
He made his film debut in 1992 with the film Living in Bondage. He has appeared in over 100 films since his debut in 1992.
Kanayo was nominated for an African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in 2008 for his role in the film Across the Niger.
He ran unsuccessfully for the seat of Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise in the Federal House of Representatives under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). He is well-known for playing villains in these films, particularly those involving occultic practices.
Kanayo was one of several Nigerians honoured by the government during the centenary celebrations in 2014, receiving the order of the MFR.
