Oba Adeshina Sulaimon Raji empowered 500+ artisans and traders through initiatives during his birthday, improving their livelihoods and the community’s development.
Speaking at the empowerment programme, the monarch noted that it was imperative to give back to society and lift the indigent for them to be financially independent.
The participants were empowered with various work tools and charged not to sell them, but to effectively utilize them. Additionally, they were informed that their efficient use of the tools would motivate further support from Oba Raji.
The monarch said effective use of the tools would motivate him to do more for them and others in the future. Ensure you use these tools very well to be financially stable and independent. We have done this to make sure you can stand on your own.
“There is dignity in labour. If you use the tools very well, you will motivate me to do more for you. I implore you not to sell the items. This is a sort of meal ticket for you. Endeavour to use them effectively,” he said.
The beneficiaries expressed happiness at the monarch’s kind gesture and prayed that God continues to bless and protect him.
Additionally, they assured him that they would use the tools for their intended purpose and also praised him for his consistent contributions to community development and the empowerment of people and youths.
